Development Stages of smart Inverters

2024-04-26

The development of smart inverters can be summarized into five stages:

1.Early power inverter. In the early 1980s, power inverters mainly used silicon-controlled rectifier technology, which resulted in large waveform distortion and low power quality.

2.Analog smart inverter. In the mid-1980s, with the development of digital control technology, analog smart inverters used digital control technology for precise waveform control, improving the performance of inverters.

3.Digital smart inverter. In the 1990s, new technologies such as digital signal processors (DSP), algorithms, and so on, greatly improved the performance and reliability of digital smart inverters.

4.Integrated smart inverter. In the early 21st century, based on various advanced technologies such as integrated circuits and synchronous rectification, integrated smart inverters achieved more efficient and reliable power conversion.

5.Next generation smart inverter. After the mid-21st century, with the rapid development of technology such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and big data, the next generation smart inverter will become more smart, and IoT applications will provide more application scenarios and technical support for the development of smart inverters.
